Street Life
This black & white photography compilation infuses life into street scenes, capturing the essence of cafes, restaurants, and bars. Through a fusion of images and words, the series weaves a narrative that delves into the dual perspectives of those savouring these spaces and those toiling behind the scenes.
Inspired by Robert Frank, who redefined the portrayal of American culture with a contemporary and carefree approach, I incorporate Walker Evans's emphasis on combining words and pictures to craft a compelling narrative. Additionally, I channel Eugène Atget's determination to document Parisian streets scenes before their transformation through modernisation.
In this collection, I adopt a genuine and dynamic style to convey the distinctive character, vibrancy, and energy emanating from these establishments. The intention is to present them as compelling choices for exploration and enjoyment, inspiring viewers to visit and experience the richness of these urban landscapes.
